My Story

After studying photography at Texas State University for many years I finally got my BFA and set off to Florida on a gig taking head shots of doctors for publications. That job led me to a gig photographing ballroom dancing of all things and then to the Hometown News where I got my feet wet as a newspaper photographer in the small town of New Smyrna Beach, FL by the ocean.

I opened Tillie Arts, a fine art gallery in Marfa, TX, yet another quirky small town in West Texas. I learned the ins and outs of the art slinging trade and how to create beautiful images people want to look at for a long time. I also had the opportunity to photograph weddings in some of the most serene places in the world. I bring those skills to the table today in all the events, weddings and portraits I photograph.

Having been raised in Small Town, Texas, I have grown to love the uniqueness and oddities one finds in places most people have forgotten. I like to say I have an eye for the colorful, the whimsical and beautiful. In my spare time I use funky old Holgas, Dianas, Pin Holes and Polaroid film cameras to get the effects I am looking for when shooting odd ball places. You can see these images here.

Moab, Utah is where I hang my hat and diaper bag these days. My husband, son and I own and operate Triassic Moab, a creative and sustainable tree service and design studio. Utah is one of the most amazing places in the world and we are lucky to be inspired by nature's beauty on a daily basis.
